Dr.Sunait Chutintaranond is Director of Asia Studies Institute at Chulalongkorn University. He is also an Associate Professor in History and Director of Graduate School in Southeast Asia Studies Program (International), Chulalongkorn University. Dr.Sunait has a great interest in ancient history particularly Thailand-Myanmar relation, and is regarded as one of well-respect Burmese History experts in Thailand.
His academic and popular articles have been published extensively in various Thai journals including Muang Boran and Arts and Culture magazines. He also conducted several studies on Thai and Myanmar relationships, and his latest research topic in 2009 is "Thailand in Neighboring Countries' Perceptions, Understanding and Knowledge", under the support of Thailand Research Fund. He is also an author of many books including “The Second Fall of Ayutthaya”, “King Bayinnaung, the Burmese King in Thai perception”, “Suphankalaya -from mystery to history”, “Burmeses Read Thais” and “on Both Sides of the Tenasserim Range”.
After graduating with first bachelor's degree honor in history from Thammasart University, Dr.Sunait continued his study at Cornell University, USA, and graduated with a doctoral degree in Southeast Asian History.
